In our workshop in Zaježová, we guide you through traditional forging techniques so you leave not only with new skills, but also with a product made by your own hands. The courses are suitable for both beginners and advanced participants and take place in small groups with an individual approach.
What you will experience during the course
- you will discover the power of fire and steel and learn how metal responds under hammer strikes
- you will learn the correct stance, tool grip, and basic blacksmithing techniques
- you will understand the material — its properties, proper processing, and shaping possibilities
- you will go through the process from your first simple piece to more complex forms
- we usually start with forging a nail as the simplest item, continue with a horseshoe, a candle holder, and you will also try forging a Celtic knife from mild steel

- you will deepen your blacksmithing skills and move on to more advanced techniques
- you will get to know high-quality steels and their behaviour during forging, hardening, and processing
- you will learn the two-hammer technique and efficient material shaping
- you will understand the processes needed to create your own tools and instruments

- you will refine your craftsmanship when working with high-quality steels and complex shapes
- you will master the technological processes required for forging tools
- you will learn proper hardening, shaping, and final finishing of tools
- under the guidance of a master, you will create your own functional tool — an axe, hammer, or another custom piece
- you will deepen your understanding of the craft to a level where work becomes true mastery

A TRUE CRAFT EXPERIENCE
Course Information
In our workshop in Zaježová, courses usually take place from April to October. If you are unable to find a suitable date within the current year, your course can also be used the following year. If you are planning to join next year, we recommend purchasing a course voucher, which will ensure you are among the first to receive information about available dates.
Each course has a capacity of three participants. We have developed a structured methodology so that even complete beginners leave the workshop with an understanding of the basic principles of blacksmithing.
Courses take place directly in our workshop in Zaježová. The price includes both the items created during the course and accommodation. One course day lasts 6 hours (10:00–17:00). Courses are held on weekdays only. Accommodation and meals are included in the course price.
