The Sword Múspell, inspired by the Germanic spatha, brings to life an ancient legend from Norse mythology. According to the myth, Múspellheim, the fiery realm older than the worlds of cold and frost, was guarded by the giant Surtr. This powerful guardian, armed with a flaming sword, defended the borders of Múspell from intruders.

More picturesSvätopluk's sword, my version of the sword inspired by the discovery of one of the most prestigious swords found in Slovakia. The discovery dates back to the period of Great Moravia. This work could have come to fruition thanks to a great individual who provided me with the space for its creation. Each stroke was essentially research and a learning process for me, as this project was a huge challenge.
For the blade, I used four bars of Damascus steel, which I forged myself from Celtic steel slag (tamahagane) dating back approximately 2000 years. The handle was made using welded steel from roughly the 16th century. The sheath is made of alder wood, covered in linen canvas and fine goat leather. The overall impression is enhanced by silvered bronze fittings crafted by Dagfari, where legends refer to some kind of war restraints, preventing the sword from being drawn in anger and thus invoking war. It can be said that this entire project reflects my spiritual journey at that time.

More picturesA sword inspired by the Germanic spatha, which demanded our blood. It is a tribute to this beautiful yet challenging craft. A sword as a symbol of justice, honor, and power. Crafting and carrying it is a certain commitment and a symbol of social status. I am glad I can create such powerful objects of strength within the circle of great people. The blade was made from a combination of approximately 2000-year-old Celtic steel and modern Ni80Cr11 steel. The handle consists of brass, ebony wood, and wild boar tusk. The scabbard is decorated with the forging work of Dagfari. The base is made of alder wood covered with finely tanned sheepskin. I collaborated with my colleague Rastislav Kluvanec on the pommel of the sword, where 150-year-old Czech grenades are mounted.
