We proudly present Klyuv, an early medieval long combat knife/seax that is both a powerful tool and a true work of art. This knife is not just a weapon; it is a symbol of deep respect for history and our ancestors.
Klyuv draws inspiration from ancient Norse legends, particularly the tale of Huginn, Odin’s raven. Huginn, along with his companion Muninn, flew across the world each day, gathering wisdom and messages from the past. In Norse mythology, ravens symbolized memory and knowledge, serving as messengers of the ancestors.
Our knife, Klyuv, embodies the essence of these ancient stories. Its blade, forged from wild Damascus steel, represents the strength and resilience passed down through generations. The bronze patinated fittings, adorned with silver lines and brass decorative pins, evoke the appearance of a bygone era and a deep respect for our ancestors. The handle, crafted from intricately carved ebony wood and complemented by a white ring made from reindeer antler, pays homage to tradition and the craftsmanship of old artisans.
Engravings of bird heads, enhanced with over a century-old Czech garnets, carry the spirit of ancient tales, where every element of the knife reflects a piece of our history. The richly decorated leather sheath, made from cowhide and featuring bronze fittings by master Dagfari, completes the whole, making this knife a true messenger from the past.
Klyuv is more than just a knife - it is a tool that carries the legacy of our ancestors, passing their wisdom into the present day.
