The Sword Múspell, inspired by the Germanic spatha, brings to life an ancient legend from Norse mythology. According to the myth, Múspellheim, the fiery realm older than the worlds of cold and frost, was guarded by the giant Surtr. This powerful guardian, armed with a flaming sword, defended the borders of Múspell from intruders. From the sparks and embers escaping this realm, the gods created stars and other celestial bodies. The Sword Múspell embodies the fiery power that is an integral part of the cosmic balance.
The blade of this exceptional sword, measuring 85 cm, is forged from five rods of Böhler Damascus steel. The rods create a flame pattern that reflects the very essence of Múspellheim’s fire. This steel is renowned not only for its beauty but also for its superior qualities – strength, durability, and design for long-term use.
The handle is a harmonious blend of natural and historical elements. Reindeer antler, complemented by brass details, gives the handle a unique character. The pommel features decorations inspired by animal motifs, with eyes crafted from Czech garnets that lend the sword a mystical aura. The rune inscription, carefully chosen by the client, recalls the connection to ancestors and ancient traditions.
The sword is housed in a richly decorated scabbard made of sheep leather, adorned with bronze fittings from the workshop of master Dagfari. This detailed and precise craftsmanship completes the exceptional value of the sword.
Weighing 1,350 g, Múspell is perfectly balanced and ready to face any challenge, just like its mythological counterpart. This sword is not just a weapon – it is a reminder of ancient legends and the mighty fire that shaped the worlds.
